Can you quit your job and still draw unemployment? Even if you reason for quitting was job instablity? Along with disagreeing with ethicle issues?

You may be penalized, but I think you can.

Some states i think maybe you can. i know here in Oregon you cant.
Each state has it’s own rules. It will depend on why you quit. If you quit without good cause atributable to your employer you probably won’t qualify. I used to work for the unemployment office in Missouri.
It will depend upon your particular situation. In your state, if they are liberal with benefits, you may be able to draw. If your previous employer does not fight it, you have a good chance. If you quit for some silly reason and your employer has good documentation as to what they did to make you happy, you may not be able to collect. What’s wrong with getting a new job and NOT collecting unemployment? Let’s face it, it’s not a perfect world.
If you have enough credits ( if you have only been in the work force a month or two etc. you dont have enough) Check your state. Here in arkansas you can apply even if you quit or were fired for a disciplinary problem , but you will have to wait 8 weeks before you can draw. The 8 weeks starts after you file not from the time of unemployment.Call you local office and ask.
I was laid off from my job of 5 years and hired on at another company worked there 2 months as a cost accountant (which a had no college education or experience for) the job was way over my head…they said it would take a year to learn but i felt like I was sinking deaper and deaper so I explained to my boss and gave a notice and quit. I signed up for unemployment ( I had money paid in from my previous employer) and they said they would have to call the employer I quit from and see if I had a proper cause for quiting months down the road I get a letter saying I was turned down and would be penilized from drawing for so many months because I did not have proper cause. So you better have good reason to quit or another job ready cause unemployment is major tough!!!! trust me I know!!!! I never did get to draw a red cent. from the lay off or the other.
No, Unemployment is for people who get fired and laid off. Too bad, try to get fired then you can collect.
Unemployment laws vary from state to state. The main thing is whether your state considers your reason for voluntarily leaving your job OK. If so, then you might collect unemployment.
No harm in simply applying for unemployment benefits and seeing if it gets approved.
