Can i get unemployment by quitting my job or getting fired? Or do i have to be laid off?

i have been @ the same job now for alomst 2 years. i am absolutely hating the job. the management is very screwy and 2 faced. i work in a sprint call center. there arent any jobs avail in my area right now and i am thinking about taking the unemployment route. am i eligable though? i need help guys!

In this case you won’t be available if you quit, or if you are fired. You would have to be laid off.
You’ll only get unemployment benefits if you are laid off (company’s having trouble, no work available, seasonal employment is over, etc.). If you quit or get yourself fired, you aren’t eligible.
