I want to include a cover letter when ever I send in my resume to potential employers. First of all, what is I don’t know the specific name of the person who is reviewing my resume? Then who do i place after “Dear”?
Also,is it wise to give out resumes to employers who are currently hiring. Or should I just give out the resumes with cover letters to employers I am truly interested in. I am 16 years old and I want to work in retail or an office setting.

Give your resume to anyone that you want to work for. Many times companies have open positions that are not advertised because they go through an agency to hire candidates, etc. but will save money by hiring directly.
A safe introduction for a cover letter is “Dear Sir or Madam.”
