i was laid off from a job in november and am still getting severance. in the meantime, i started a new job and recently quit. am i eligible for unemployment from the first job?

You will need to contact your unemployment office; each state is different. Delaware won’t allow someone to collect unemployment while getting severence, but Maryland will. Depending on the reason you quit also can be an issue.
I think it depends on where you live. I would call the unemployment office in your area. My understanding is if you quit a job you cannot get unemployment because you voluntarily stopped working.
