How do I list a job on a resume if I worked at the same place 2 different times?

I worked for my school’s IT department last spring, had an Internship this summer, and returned to the same job I had last spring when I came back to school a couple weeks ago. What is the correct format for listing this in a resume?

    Hey Kevin:

Good for you. It sounds like you’ve got a steady experience record going with your IT jobs.

If you’re doing a chronological resume (most recent on top by date, then the one before that, and the one before that), then list each stint under the dates that you were there, along with the school and department you worked with. Make sure that you include progressive job duty descriptions that reflect increased responsibility with each job, because that’s the reason they’ve hired you again and again. Or, if you did different things within the department each time, show that.

Best wishes for a successful school year!

If the job was exactly the same and at the same place then I would just list the two different stretches of time that you were employed. For example:

IT Guru – State University, Biology Department
    (January 2009 to May 2009)
    (August 2009 to Present)

It just depends on how you are formating your resume
