When you do a resume is it a key thing to put your length of employment on it? I have a bad history and haven’t lasted too long on my jobs.
Another opinion I could use from you guys : The last job I had was the longest I’ve kept a job (2 yrs) but I was fired! Should I put it down on the resume or no? Will they contact?

Sometimes if you worked at a job for a very short period of time it might be better to leave it off your resume. I would only put it if you obtained a skill at that job that would be relevant to the job you are applying to.
Why were you fired makes a big difference? But at the same time if your old company is contacted they cannot say anything negative, they will just confirm your length of employment and job position.
Yes, start with your current/last job, state job, and name of employer, and start-stop date….work backwards. If you eliminate jobs you will highlight gaps…which you will be questioned about. Verification of employment simply is that, they verify you worked there. References will be used to ask about your character/quality of work.
Put everything down! It gives them an idea of the amount of experience you might have regarding that job.
