thats a big stretch, just be sure to tie in some of what you learned in your field to the job you are applying for. It might take some thinking (and stretching) but you can tie anything together. Maybe you can tie in the two science portions, engineering and environmental sciences must have some link.
Mention how your education in environmental science would benefit your potential employer regarding the impact engineering has on the environment and your knowledge of how to limit it. Let them know you always wanted to help build things that work in harmony with their surroundings.
Good Luck!
The same thing only worded a little different.
Put in these key points:
Your name and the company name (so every one can keep a better record)
What you like about that specific company (mission statement, particular jobs they have worked on)
Why you would be good for them (or at least mention “I think we could work well together” or something like that)
State your resume is attacked and give the resume.
That is a general out-line for a cover letter no matter who you give it to. That is a pretty big difference, what would make you want to switch?
Good luck!
I believe you should elaborate on your knowledge, skills and abilities that your potential employer will benefit from. For instance, mention your work ethics, mention how you will go above and beyond the call of duty, mention how you are a team player and how well you interact with others. There are a ton of things you can include in your cover letter without having to mention your educational background. If you like I can assist you in this process. Feel free to contact me via Yahoo!
