can anybody help me find a sample cover letter for a job just in general?

Go to the library – they will have entire books of samples going from very specific to completely generic.
if u dont have a specific job in mind wait until u do then type the cover letter!
a cover letter that isn’t for a specific job/industry–should be a summary of your resume–your interests in general and qualities you might have that could enhance your prospects-also what you aspire to i.e. management in the future etc..–so really a short story about you and where you’re going

Sure, here’s a “general purpose” cover letter which you can addapt to any of your necessities. You can find it in here:

However, you should be aware that the most effective cover letters are the ones which contain a large amount of specific keywords, meaning keywords related to a certain job. But you’ll probably changethe content when you know the title of the job you seek for.
