Learn HOW TO WRITE A RESUME : HOW TO WRITE A COVER LETTER : HOW TO LAND A JOB
How can I be honest about degree status on my resume and cover letter but still get the job?

I just walked at my college graduation and 6 months later received a letter in the mail stating that I am 1 credit away from graduating. I am registered for the 1 credit to be completed Spring 2009 but am also in the process of applying for careers. What is the best way to be honest in my resume and cover letter, while emphasizing the fact that I am only 1 credit away and in the process of finishing?

Just list your degree as 2009 (expected) on your resume, and explain things pretty much as you have here in your cover letter: you’re finishing up your last credit, and you expect to be done by the end of the semester.

just say exactly that. On your cover letter, mention that you are 1 credit away from completing your degree, and give an expected completion date. You dont want to lie about stuff on your resume / cover letter.

I agree with the previous 2 answers.

I did the same thing while I was still in schoo but applying for job. This is what I did.

    Bachelor of Commerce
    School of Business, University
    – Excpected date of Completion: _____

You probably don’t need to mention it again in your cover letter. They might catch it and ask about it in the interview.

Goodluck with the job search and the last course!
