Learn HOW TO WRITE A RESUME : HOW TO WRITE A COVER LETTER : HOW TO LAND A JOB
On my resume/vitae, should I mention my GPA?

I’m applying for a part time faculty job at a college……

my gpa is 3.6

Should I mention that on my resume?

On one hand, 3.6 GPA is considered very good.

On the other hand, don’t most people who apply for faculty positions tend to have high GPAs?
Maybe I should just leave it off my resume since there’s no point as it wouldn’t make me stand out from the competition

Put it in if it is a plus. It is short.

(I left in my class standing because it was a plus, even long after I graduated. I’m in law, though, which is a research/academic skills profession of sorts)

Your GPA is only relevant if you’re a recent graduate (i.e. within 5 years.)

Otherwise, it’s your professional experience that matters.

I put mine on my resume, I look at it this way, if I was going to hire someone who would I want the C student or the A student? At least they know you are serious about your profession and that you didn’t just skate by.

If you have a 3.6, you’re not Sarah Palin
