I was recently diagnosed with anxiety disorder and get frequent panic attacks when I ride the train to work, my job is very stressful and I work for an awful boss who treats ppl like crap. I know for a fact that my job is affecting my health. I would have to file for unemployment because I need $$ to survive but I need to treat my illness as well. Anyone have any answers for me??

Quitting a job disqualifies you from getting unemployment.
If you have long-term disability insurance, you might be able to get some monthly payments. Otherwise, the answer is probably ‘no.’

No you can not collect unemployment if you are not able to work.
You will not be eligible. To collect comp., you must be unemployed through no fault of your own. Quit voluntarily, and there is no way you will collect.
This is something you are going to have to deal with. You talk about stress? Working for a boss who treats people like crap and working a job that is full of stress is a tea party compared to the stress bought on by long term unemployment.

No, since you’d have to go out and find the same type of work.
You need to get on disability, rather than quitting your job. Since it is stress related and also since you are also having panic attacks. Go to your doctor and talk with them about going on disability, see what your doctor has to say as to weather he thinks that you would be able to get disability or not.
You may need to keep working for a while before you would be able to go out on disability, since it will take a while for you to get approved. Plus you will need to document what is going on with you if you haven’t already done so.
One thing to keep in mind is that you may not make as much on disability as you would be if you were working.

Go to a doctor & get some pills. Otherwise sign up for State disability insurance (SDI), same office as EDD.
No you would need disability, to collect unemployment you have to be healthy and able to work.
