I wanted to know if I omit a job from my resume and the company I’m applying for does an employment background check, can they see where I have worked if I don’t list it in my resume? Help please!!

a company interested in employment history record simply gets it from dept of labor….it will show up there….if you neglect to add it you will not be hired….
No. In fact the only way they know you have worked somewhere is by calling the companies you list. That’s how they “verify employment.”
If it was for more than 3 months a good recruiter or manager will ask you to explain the gap.
That being said if it comes out later (and I don’t know how unless you get drunk at a company party and blab how you got one over on HR) they could terminate you for not being truthful on your application.
Applying for a police department or government agency that requires a thorough background check is a different story.
Yes, they can. You are generally letting them see anything that is on your credit report which is every employer that has paid you wages.
This is why you people always bitch about the government controlling everything.
You think they really do !
There is no such thing as an “employment background check”.
Your employers are listed only on your social security account, and no one can see that except you.
A potential employer can call employers that you list on your application to verify that you worked there.
They can do a credit check and a criminal background check.
That’s all.
AND KATHY AND MARC ARE COMPLETELY WRONG.
