I’m a college student applying for a job, it tells me to email cover letter and resume to xxx@xxx.edu. What exactly does it mean by cover letter, and what should I include in the cover letter? Should it be formal or relatively informal? How long should it be?

I don’t have much job or volunteer experience. Basically my resume isn’t even half a page. For that reason i don’t even think i have much to say on the cover letter. Should i exclude the cover letter and just submit the resume as is?

This is absolutely worse timing. I am a month pregnant. I was thinking of temp jobs until I give birth because this is the best solution I can think of now. Please help.

I was let go from my last job after only 8 months. It make it short and sweat I stuck up for my guys and no one stuck up for me.
I know when I used to look at resumes, if I saw a short time position (especially at a higher level job) I would think that the company had finally figured out this person didn’t know what they were doing. How do I counter this misconception?

I am applying for an administrative position at Christie’s and I really need to land this position. I have one year of museum experience (department of contemporary art) and I am working on my MA in art history. What sorts of things will it be important for me to convey in the cover letter and resume? What can I say to put myself above the rest?
